STARLINE - The Beach Boys on 45

USA Starline

Purple label

└─  Back to main US Starline page

The last one in the Starline-series. The releases on this purple label started during the summer of 1988, and was ended somewhere in the early 90ies when regular releases on vinyl were ended and from then on vinyl were only pressed on special order.

As for the layout: except for the obvious difference in label colour and outer ridge font type, the layout is exactly the same as the ones used for the Starline Rainbow labels.

The last series on the Starline-label were accompanied by 3 company sleeves. First the grey sleeve - introduced with the rainbow label - was used, but later pressings were also released in a plain black sleeve or a mottled silver sleeve with a gray strip on the (left) side. This last one also showed the Capitol dome-logo. When which of the latter 2 sleeves was used isn't completely clear.
