Era Records was an independent American record label located in Hollywood, California. It was founded by Herb Newman and Lou Bedell in 1955 as a pop, country and western and jazz label. In the late 1950s, the label switched to mostly rockabilly music. Era had a #1 hit in 1956 with Gogi Grant's "The Wayward Wind", written by Newman. In 1959 Bedell sold his interest in the label to Newman. Era distributed other labels including Monogram and Trey. From 1969 to 1971, Era was associated with Happy Tiger, which reissued and distributed some of Era's oldies. During the 1970s, the Era label was sold to K-tel. In the 1990s, K-tel began reissuing some of the early Era material under the original label.

In 1969 the ERA label released a few low-budget records among which a "best of" record was released called "The Beach Boys Biggest Beach Hits" (ERA HTE 805). A few years later, on October 7th 1972 ERA also started releasing a series of reissue singles. It is believed that a couple of Beach Boys singles were released shortly after that date. Both 45's are pictured here below. The Beach Boys songs that were released were the first in a series of many re-issues which used the Hite Morgan recordings.

The 45's were both released in a generic light blue sleeve with no information what so ever on the label.
